Disable Windows Defender In Windows 10 Pro
Windows Defender work like an Antivirus which protects your system. You can scan any hard, USB drive or SD card through Windows Defender easily and quickly.
Windows 10 now has its own antivirus known as Windows Defender that’s why you do not need to install any other antivirus on your system to protect it from viruses, malware’s, ad-wares etc.
For some reasons you want to turn off Windows Defender which is Enable by-default then follow the below given steps.
Steps to Disable Windows Defender in windows 10 Pro :
Step 1 : Open Windows Search Bar, Type “gpedit”, “local group policy editor” or “edit group policy” and Press Enter or Click on it.
“Local group policy” or “edit group policy” editor windows will open in front of you.
Step 2 : Expend “Administrative Templates”.
Step 3 : Again Expend “Windows Components”.
Step 4 : Find “Windows Defender” and Click on it.
Windows Defender settings will appear in Right Side Windows, it shows all the Items/Options with their description and status.
Step 5 : Now Double Click on “Turn Off Windows Defender“.
It will open “Turn Off Windows Defender” windows. By-default Windows Defender is set to Enable that’s why here “Not Configured” radio box is Selected.
Step 6 : To Disable/Turn Off Windows Defender then Check “Enabled” radio box.
(Because If you enable this policy setting, Windows Defender does not run, and computers are not scanned for malware or other potentially unwanted software).
Step 7 : In the last Click on “Apply”, then on “OK” button this will save your policy setting for windows defender.
That’s it now Windows Defender will stop working as an Antivirus for your system.
How to Enable Windows Defender again then follow these steps…
Steps to Enable Windows Defender in Windows 10 Pro :
Repeat Steps 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.
Step 6 : To Turn On Windows Defender then Check “Disabled” or “Not Configured” radio box.
(Because If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, by default Windows Defender runs and computers are scanned for malware and other potentially unwanted software).
Step 7 : In the last Click on “Apply” and then on “OK” button to apply the policy setting for Windows Defender.
This will “Turn On Windows Defender” again and it will start working as an Antivirus for your computer / laptop.
